A minimum order quantity is the lowest number of a specific product that your retailer needs to add to their cart before they can purchase the item. Minimum order quantity is set up per product, and is different from your order minimum.
Do I have to set a minimum quantity?
Minimum order quantities are optional. If you don’t want to set a minimum quantity, leave the corresponding fields blank for that product.
How do I set a minimum order quantity for individual items?
To set a minimum order quantity for an item:
- From the product editor, scroll down to the Selling method section.
- Select By the item.
- Enter a Minimum order quantity of 1 or more.
- Save your changes by pressing Update.
If your product has multiple options, retailers will only need to order the minimum quantity of any available option to proceed. Minimum order quantity cannot be set per product option at this time—if you’d like to require a minimum quantity of every option, please list each variant as an individual product.
How do I set a minimum order quantity when selling by the case?
A case is a group of single items packaged together. When setting up cases, be sure to account for each individual unit. This ensures your retailers can report missing or damaged items without deducting your payout for the entire case.
Items packaged together and billed as a single unit are referred to as “bundles,” and are not permitted on Faire. For more information, please see Creating collections for bundles.
To set a minimum order quantity for products sold by the case:
- From the product editor, scroll down to the Selling method section.
- Choose By the case.
- Enter a Case size of 2 or more.
- If you set a case size of 1, our system will automatically update the selling method to By the item.
- Select a Minimum order quantity from the drop-down menu. Your minimum order quantity cannot be smaller than your case size.
- For quantities higher than 20, choose 20+ from the list, then select the field again to type in your desired minimum order quantity.
- Save your changes by pressing Update.
