Our Story Shorty (Harold Prebish) and Wags (Dwane Wagner) met in 1965 through a mutual friend. At the time, Shorty was a welder and Wags was a cook at a Mexican food restaurant in Minneapolis Minnesota. In 1979 Wags asked Shorty if he wanted to partner up and open a fast food restaurant. They found a location in South Minneapolis on 38th Street and Nicollet. The business was a small café for sale for $10,000 with very low rent. They borrowed $5,000 from a friend to put down and the rest on contract for deed. For 32 years Shorty and Wags served their whole chicken wings, wet battered, deep fried and seasoned with their famous seasoning and sauces on the side. Shorty now lives in Longville Minnesota and unfortunately Wags passed away in 2011. The family legacy is continuing by selling the Shorty & Wags Original all purpose seasoning.
