I have been in the CPG world my entire life. We manufacture the very highest possible quality pasta & pizza sauces. We own our own facility and have operated as a family owned business since 1945 when my grandparents began gifting jars of my grandmothers homemade sauce to customers. We have grown primarily by following the distribution network of specialty food distributors and are in most UNFI & KeHe distribution centers across the country. Our industry has changed so much over the years and consolidation at every level has lent itself to less variety, more negative impact to the climate and less real choice at the supermarket level. People do not understand their shopping dollars are a vote in the food system they want to thrive. This is intersection of many of the things I am super passionate about. I think our food system needs a complete overhaul and was convinced the pandemic laid bare many issues in our current food system. So not only am I the literally hugest fan of shopping local, I support local independents, growers, creators and makers. To that end, I am on the BOD of the Electric City Food Co-Op. We are ultimately committed to bringing a full service grocery store to downtown Schenectady, but Covid made us rethink our brick and mortar.
