Pastora was born in Elda, a town in Alicante with a deep-rooted shoe tradition. His family's roots are in Andalusia, so he spent his childhood on the east coast of the Mediterranean. Pastora has been linked to the Spanish shoe industry for more than 30 years. His curiosity for design and art in all its forms borders on the compulsive; his passion means being aware of how the creative world around him evolves. That is why the result of Pastora's work is fiercely traditional as well as avant-garde. Pastora started POQ as a personal project, driven by the lack of art and excellence that the jute footwear sector was suffering. POQ has become a namesake, a personification of its values.
