Tori Chan Matcha is a sister-owned organic matcha company based in Los Angeles, CA. We wanted to create a matcha company that combined super high quality product with cute, fun, and playful branding, that would spark joy from the moment you see it. Co-founders Madeline and Julia have both taken an interest in Japanese culture from different angles—Julia studies the language and Madeline was drawn to Zen Buddhism from early adulthood and has many years of experience in fine dining with Japanese influence. Their affinity for matcha was where all these things were able to come together. Tori Chan matcha has strong family values, sourcing from a multi-generational farm and using imagery to represent our own family on our packaging. Each symbol on our matcha tin signifies a different member of our family. At the center, there is a bird or, Tori, in Japanese, the name of our company, and the childhood nickname of co-founder Madeline. Julia wanted to name the company after her beloved sister and best friend. We also believe in giving back and donate 1% of our profits for the improvement children's health and education.
