I learned to knit at the age of 6, and spent most of my life searching for quality wool. Following the birth of my eldest son, I started Orchidean Luxury Yarns, specialising in high-end yarns for knitting and crochet including cashmere, silk, alpaca and merino. I hand-dye them in small batches of exclusive but repeatable colourways. I also make a range of knitting and crochet accessories with gemstones and silver plated findings. I have a minimum order of 5 skeins per colourway, but you can mix and match the bases. Please remember that colours will look markedly different on different bases. I am passionate about creating high quality products and my customers come back again and again. If you have any questions please just ask. My mantra has always been "because life's too short to knit with cheap yarn" Please note there are a few things to bear in mind when buying hand dyed yarns: No two skeins are ever the same, even if they have been dyed in the same pot. If consistency is important and/or to prevent colour pooling I strongly recommend working with two skeins and alternatin every other row. Every effort is taken to ensure colour-fastness, but some residual dye may remain (this is normal – think jeans…) I suggest hand washing all garments in cool water prior to being worn and keep bright colours separate.
