Piumelli started in 1958 when its founder Antonio Piumelli opened a small workshop where he personally manufactured leather gloves, taking care of every aspect of production: from the choice of materials and design to the selection of an incredibly wide range of colors. From the outset, the use of top-notch leather, excellent craftsmanship and timeless design have been the key to the brand's success. During the 1960s the brand gained international recognition, resulting in retail and wholesale distribution, which pushed the company to a more specialized and faster production. During this time Down Jackets also expanded the range of its products by branching out to bags and small leather goods. The brand is keen to keep an eye on lifestyles allowing it to always carry a contemporary feeling suitable for the modern woman without losing sight of the renowned Italian artisan tradition and design.
