About Nuar Shoes

NUAR takes its name from the Catalan word for “ tie ”. True to its definition, it takes us to territory of footwear, but also to the generation of connections between brand-productive factory, brand-territory, brand-user. Behind NUAR you will find Ariana Baltierrez. After several years working for the shoes industry, her goal and dedication is bringing back to life the footwear heritage in the Mallorca industry, working together with local artisans as a way to keep alive the traditional craftsmanship of the island. From her local studio in Alaró, a peaceful valley on the southern slopes of the Tramuntana mountains range, she draws inspiration from the landscapes, culture, and history that render Mallorca unique, infusing each pair with a touch of its magic. PHILOSOFY At NUAR we take responsibility on social and environment commitment by prioritizing high-quality materials, producing in limited quantities and with a honest and timeless design. Our shoes are made in collaboration with one of the last remaining shoe factory in Mallorca, encouraging a positive relationship with its community. Relying on the experience of the talented artisans of the island is a way of supporting their work and preserving our traditions alive. Respecting their procedures and bringing the essence of this island, we meticulously source the finest materials, selecting premium leathers that are by-products from the meat industry, aging gracefully, developing character and depth over the years.
