Lurbel's origins date back to the early 90s when Miguel Lurbe Sanz founded a hosiery company in his hometown of Ontinyent, Valencia. The original business focused on the manufacture of high-turnover functional hosiery. With the help of their children, who integrated themselves into the family business, the excellence and know-how of the family, they consolidated the project by positioning themselves as a benchmark in the hosiery sector. The economic situation of the late 2000s with aggressive competition from imported textiles together with the entrepreneurial spirit of the family prompted the specialization of the family business as a guarantee of success and differentiation. The new course was set in the sports sector (at that time the youngest of the Lurbe brothers joined the company), a plane in which the Lurbe brothers saw clear signs of expansion as well as representing a very important area of each of their lives. The idea soon forged and the essence of Lurbel as it is known today was born. The diversification of the catalogue and the consolidation of the project thereafter would go hand in hand with R&D and differentiation in the original idea, executing the process comprehensively to ensure an optimal product.
