Pistachio ( aka Esther Chan ) is an Industrial Designer with a passion for whimsical and minimal designs. She sees design as a game of simplifying complicated problems into bold, simple solutions. Born in Hong Kong, raised in both Hong Kong and US, Pistachio is heavily influenced by both the Eastern and Western culture. Pistachio's design philosophy blends the traditional side of the East with the creativity side of the West. This is exactly why we are Pistachio Playground. The literal translation of “Pistachio” in HongKongese is “happy nut”, because it closely resembles a big wide smile. It is also a slang for happy people. Founded on the love for great designs, Pistachio Playground is a happy place. We design products to brighten everyday lives, making the tough days a little easier, and the good ones even better.
