I have always loved traditional craftsmanship and the natural world. Once known as the Gold of the Incas, alpacas, a species of camel which roams the Andean plains of South America, was once treasured by Inca Royalty for its lustre and unique buttery softness which distinguishes it from all other fibres. Hi, there! I make super RAD handmade hats with fun sayings or quotes from some of my favorite movies or tv shows! I also make a lot of fun pop culture references. I am constantly adding more and more styles and “collections”. Each one is handmade by me in Los Angeles. Aisling is the Gaelic spelling of my name, Ashley, and means “vision” and “dream.” It epitomizes the goal of my designs - to reflect who we are, what we do, and our hopes and plans for future adventures. Whether you are fishing on the river, hiking in the mountains, hanging with friends, or watching your favorite team -- we are here to supply you with an accessory that represents who you are, where you're from, where you've been or what you love to do. Our designs are hand-drawn, painted and photographed by me! The artwork is mixed media-based utilizing watercolor, acrylic, graphite, ink and select imagery. One of my favorite techniques is gyotaku, the ancient Japanese process of covering a fish in ink and making rubbings with rice paper. The inspiration for my designs comes from my roots in the Midwest, my life in Colorado and a passion for travel, As a company we believe that life is an adventure - no matter where you live or what you do. We wanted to make sure we got it right before introducing it. Countless hours finding the highest quality materials, designs, and methods. We use a proprietary method to apply the artwork. The artwork is not hand painted, but uses an original method. The artwork will not fade, smear, transfer, flake or smudge. Wild as Heck takes unique illustrated artwork and hand applies it to a 100% Australian wool hat. We chose to go with wool over a synthetic fiber because wool is a completely natural, sustainable, and biodegradable material.
