Yumi Baby was founded by sisters Lieke and Marijke. We are both mothers of three children and reside in Friesland. Our passion is to translate our love for serene, beautiful prints into soft, exclusive baby products. All designs are unique, hand-painted, and made with passion. Our grandmother inspired us with her love for painting, especially watercolors, and her artwork often influences our collection. “Yumi” is a Japanese word meaning “beautiful,” which perfectly aligns with our style. Yumi is pronounced as Yuw-miy, sounding like “you and me,” referencing the two of us, sisters running this label, as well as you and your baby—mother and child. Our aim is to be a leading socially responsible brand for parents. We focus on environmentally friendly production, using certified organic Oeko-Tex cotton. Whenever possible, we manufacture in social workshops in the Netherlands, providing opportunities for individuals who would otherwise struggle to find employment. Read their story
