Rempapa was founded by a food-loving duo: Shu, Southeast Asian food writer and cookbook author; and Olly, a chef-turned-food buyer who saw a gap on the shelves for easy, exciting flavours outside of the standard repertoire of Thai/ Indian. Rempapa is born from the word ‘rempah’, or ‘spice pastes’ in Malay – the aromatic base for curries, marinades and stir-fries. Our award-winning spice pastes are carefully developed from time-tested family recipes, with no added preservatives. You can add your own creative flair to Rempapa in the kitchen – we just take away the stress of sourcing/ putting together exotic ingredients and flavours. About a year in, we launched our sambals - slow-fried aromatic chilli condiments ready-to-use straight from the jar at the start or end of a dish.
