Stapledon Arts was born from Charlecia Joy's deep desire to revolutionize art education, inspired by her experience as a dedicated art educator in the New York City public school system. Identifying a significant gap in opportunities for creatives of color to fully explore their creative expression, Joy was determined to address the lack of art materials, particularly those that support the representation of diverse melanin skin tones. Stapledon Arts provides inclusive art supplies tailored to celebrate the rich tapestry of our world with a focus on the diversity of the African diaspora. Partnering with BIPOC artists, we deliver skin-tone materials and thoughtfully curated paint kits that inspire expression while amplifying marginalized voices.
