About Catskills Comfrey

Catskills Comfrey is a small medicinal farm in upstate NY growing comfrey, arnica, calendula, SJW, goldenrod, cleavers and, occasionally, CBD-dominant hemp. These plants thrive in the Catskills sun, soil and water! We create truly 'clean & green' ointments by infusing these plants and others, eg, burdock, devil's claw, yarrow, SJW, into MCT and Greek olive oils. Comfrey's large green leaves provide the distinctive green color of our ointments. Local beeswax is added for consistency. We are comfrey-based: each ointment we make has the exact same concentration of comfrey. With nearly 400 comfrey plants in the ground, we infuse a LOT of comfrey into EACH ointment we make. Allantoin, comfrey’s active ingredient, is a cell-proliferant, encouraging new cell-growth. Comfrey also contains mucilage which may provide 'lubrication' to the skeletal substructure that contributes to discomforting Trigger Finger symptoms. Our focus for medicinal healing: 1) arthritis and joint pain 2) skincare, eg, eczema, psoriasis and skin rash 3) lymphatic drainage Our ointments are created through the infusion process. We use no essential oils, essences or fragrances - and infuse only the larger comfrey leaves. We do not use the comfrey root. All medicinal benefits of each plant are full-spectrum. The 'Entourage Effect' lives here ... in each plant we infuse. We like to get under your skin.
