About Susquehanna Mills
In 2006, Susquehanna Mills was born when our founder became interested in cost-effective bio-diesel for the vehicles he used in his construction business. Since then, we have evolved from a supplier of bio-diesel to a manufacturer of quality Canola and Sunflower cooking oils whose top priority is sustainability. To that end, we practice Full Circle manufacturing, wherein waste oil we pick up from our restaurant and university partners is upcycled into biodiesel, which powers many of our farm partners' vehicles.

At Rancho Milagro, we grow four olive varieties – Frantoio, Coratina, Picual, and Hojiblanca. Previously the land had been used for grazing cattle. We first planted olive trees in 2013, then more in 2014, and still more in 2016. We now have about 3000 trees over 40 acres. We started harvesting in 2016, and each year as the trees mature they produce more oil. We harvest by hand with a hired crew. The olives get to the mill quickly – within hours – to give you the best flavors. Our Field Blend combines all 4 varieties in the original orchard. Since 2023, we've also offered Frantoio as a single variety on its own. Enjoy award-winning Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Rancho Milagro drizzled on grilled meat or vegetables. Honest Toil is run by Tom & Juli, a small project based just south of Kyparissia, on the west coast of the Peloponnese, Greece. We harvest our own small olive groves, and also work together with other small-holders and the local olive press. As the two of us have a uniquely direct control over the whole process, from picking to pressing and packing, we can make sure that it really is just as simple as it should be, and really keep sustainability at the core of the project. The olives used for our oil come exclusively from small family farms, and are hand-harvested using traditional methods, without industrial machinery, unnecessary strain on the tree or the disruption of wildlife. The olives are pressed in the family-owned village press and the oil is packed locally.

Burren Balsamics was founded in 2014 with the aim of producing top quality vinegars fusing local flavours with superior quality Balsamic Vinegar of Modena to create a delicious range of affordable condiments. Over a cup of coffee, we decided to produce a range of fruit infused black Balsamics. Our aim was initially to sell the products at local craft fairs and retail outlets. Our products were so well received that we also worked on infusing white balsamic vinegars – or white condiment. Our experiment became real and we now have five more flavour combinations of white Italian condiment to add to our range of ten fruit infused black balsamic vinegars. Whilst we have added to the flavours, fruit infusions and herb and spice combinations, we never compromise on flavour – the ingredients are 100% natural. Also, the processes we use to make the most out of our ingredients involve the extraction of oxygen and gentle heat application resulting in fuller, better flavours all round.

For our seasonal small batch chutneys, preserves, jams, marmalade's and jellies we grow as much as possible on the farm or source it locally to ensure everything is fresh and ripe. Our personal passion is rearing rare breed animals, these keep us busy with our Large Black pigs and Jacob sheep also our own bees for honey and geese for eggs. Walking our Working Springer Spaniels also gives us an opportunity to forage for seasonal favourites like Wild Garlic and Elderflowers fresh off the fields. We can be found locally at Artisan and Farmers Markets where we sell our produce. We also sell to local bakeries and Deli's such as Butterfingers Bakery, Guest Houses and other tearooms. All our products have food miles in mind and are usually found growing in our garden or foraged locally. These are made in our 5* Rated Kitchen in the heart of Derbyshire.
