From the biggest to the smallest, The Rocking Horse Shop, have been longstanding experts in the field of designing, making and restoring Rocking Horses for nearly 50 years! Our team collectively have nearly 200 years of experience, spread across all areas of the company and there is rarely a request we haven't heard before! We are proud to keep this traditional craft alive and encourage people to make their own rocking horses in the form of plans and kits which cover everything from weekend projects, to full size rocking horses. We published our first Rocking Horse plan back in 1976 and since then have been designing and developing plans of different shapes and sizes. We currently have over 20 plans available, ranging from our smallest 'dolls house' rocking horse up to our large traditional rocking horse, there is sure to be a project that is just right for any customer. Our plans allow someone to source and prepare your own timber, if you would prefer to get straight on with the carving (the fun bit) we offer a range of prepared timber kits and accessories available for all our horses All our horses are hand carved and finished in our Yorkshire workshops, delivered with our first class customer service. We specialise in replica and memorial horses, but also offer a range of standard finishes. We use top quality hardwoods and plywood from sustainable sources and our horses comply with British and EU safety standards.
