iBlossom Organics was founded by its CEO Iris Humes. It began with a journey of trying to find the right products for her own hair type. With all the claims to use safe ingredients, still unable to find the right product to stand true to that. She started creating her own mixtures and always hear how she had beautiful and healthy hair. She wanted to share her hair secrets with others, so she started with her friends and family. Once they began to see a noticeable difference in their hair growth and retention, she knew she was on to something. She dedicated much time into continued research in order to develop safe and natural products for her customers that would produce real results. What is “good hair”? Growing up, I remember people telling my mom how I had “good hair” and even to this day I still have people tell me I have “good hair”. I also started to research different hair textures and still couldn’t figure out what it meant to have “good hair”. There are many different textures some kinky, coily, straight and wavy. But what determines which of those were considered “good hair”? As a Black Woman, this causes us to question ourselves. If my hair isn’t "straight enough" am I still beautiful. If my hair afros instead of curls at the sight of water is my hair still beautiful? This is why I have made it my goal to let all women, but especially black women know that their hair is beautiful no matter the texture.
