As a Philanthropist I would find old worn furniture, repair it, paint it, and then donate it! I'd re-do entire rooms for single mums, dads, and teens in need. I'd donate the paint and furniture and design curtains, linens and wall hangings. I was happy to be a blessing and their gratitude was payment enough. I donated so much time and furniture that the paint costs alone were spiraling out of control. That's when I began researching solutions to make my own chalk paint. After trying several lotions, potions and recipes, my mixtures were good, but certainly not great. I was far from being the Martha Stewart of Chalk Paint but I had to come up with the perfect solution. The cost of purchasing chalk paint brands was no longer in my budget of benevolence.
