Anna, our founder and designer, blends inspiration from the countryside with cherished childhood memories, weaving together a whimsical world where imagination knows no bounds! It’s where rabbits delight in slices of carrot cake, mice craft bramble pies with care, hedgehogs and snails form unlikely but enduring friendships, and industrious bees embark on whimsical food shopping adventures, among other delightful escapades! Drawing upon her original watercolour illustrations, Anna brings these imaginative scenes to life through a range of greetings cards, which are printed onto beautiful 300gsm Tintoretto Gesso cardstock and supplied with a textured kraft envelope. Each card is presented in a transparent biodegradable starch bag. West Country Designs was awarded a Finalist position for the 'Best Spring Seasons Range' in the 2022 Henries awards, which is known as The Oscar's of the greeting card world in the UK. The awards received over 14,000 greeting card design submissions. Anna's creative journey traces back to the carefree days of her childhood, where she found joy in exploring gardens and the countryside. These formative years instilled in her a deep appreciation for nature's beauty and sparked her initial love for art. Years later, Anna made a decision to leave the bustling city life behind and relocate to Somerset. The name West Country Designs encapsulates the essence of Anna's artistic journey and the influence of the West Country landscape on her work.
