AARVEN is passionate about the preservation of traditional crafts to support sustainable livelihoods for our global family of artisans. Our contemporary home and lifestyle collections are handmade in collaboration with over 30 artisan groups across Africa and in India. All of AARVEN's unique designs have people and the planet at their heart. We create consistent, well-paid and meaningful work for our artisans using materials and processes that are kind to nature. From bold lighting to block printed tableware, handwoven baskets and brightly packaged incense, everything is made with people and planet in mind. Our designs only use natural materials, which are organic and recycled wherever possible. Each AARVEN product comes with its own special story and is imbued with the culture and personality of the artisan who made it. Meaning 'friend of the people', AARVEN was founded in 2013 by Amy Fleuriot-Reade, an artist and designer, and Bee Friedmann, an avid adventurer with a passion for rural handicrafts inspired by her upbringing in South Africa. AARVEN has two retail stores of its own in the trendy seaside town of Margate, Kent and historical Rye in East Sussex. Therefore, our team has a deep understanding of physical retail which we love to share with our stockists to help them make the best choices for their own stores.
