Growing up in Winston Salem, my sister and I spent endless afternoons at the kitchen table, painting together. This practice sparked a passion for creativity that I pursued while studying at Clemson University. Now, I call Charlotte, NC my home, where I paint from my studio in our 1934 bungalow. As an artist, I draw inspiration from the lush landscapes and verdant gardens within and around North Carolina. My intention is to bring the joy of spending time outdoors into people's homes through my artwork. From the majestic mountains to the delicate petals of a flower, I am constantly awed by the beauty and power of nature. Each painting I create is a celebration of that wonder, offering a moment of respite from the troubles of everyday life. My unique artistic style blends contemporary impressionism with stained glass-inspired abstract shapes. I achieve this by layering oil paint over a wash of acrylic, allowing the underpainting to peek through. I then use bold lines and dynamic movements throughout each piece, piecing together a mosaic of color that unifies the composition. My ultimate goal is to create art that speaks to the soul and evokes a sense of peace and joy in the viewer. By sharing my love of nature through my paintings, I hope to inspire others to appreciate the beauty of the world around them and find their own moments of solace amidst the chaos of modern life.Read their story
