Fresh Bellies got its start with Saskia Sorrosa, a former Vice President of Marketing at the NBA, who left her high-powered job to try to make a more positive difference in the world. Saskia developed some of the original mixtures that would become Fresh Bellies in her own kitchen and quickly saw their potential. She expanded the team to include a Culinary Institute of America-trained chef, and a team of pediatricians and nutritionists to advise them. The result was kid food made with passion, driven by purpose and supported by science. In 2019, Saskia appeared on Season 10 of the popular television show Shark Tank to promote Fresh Bellies and seek the support of a Shark. The publicity from the appearance has led to steady growth in the business, nationwide distribution and a loyal following from coast to coast.
