The two former filmmakers Maxim Matthew and Sebastian Panneck discovered their passion for spirits via detours. UNKNOWN Lands was originally intended to become a fashion label that develops high-quality accessories for modern men. After designing a leather-bound drinking bottle, the question arose as to which liquid should be filled the bottle best. It should be something with a great connection to nature, something that makes you enjoy the moment even more when you arrive at the top of a mountain and can see far over the country. Something that draws you out of your comfort zone, something that awakens the adventurous spirit in you! Gin was quickly chosen: The water bottle, which was designed at the time, which looks like it had already taken Indiana Jones with him on his numerous travels, inspired the design of today's triple cask gin bottle. In spring 2018, contact with Thomas Häberer from the spirit manufactory Beelitz was established. After more than a year, the time came: In late summer 2019, the first bottles of Batch 0 were sent to bloggers and the first public tasting took place in Falkensee. Batch 1 was launched on the market in September 2019. The first gin has resulted in a whole product range, which currently ranges from various gins to liqueurs to three vodkas and a new rum.
