Long before she learned the term for fun patterns and licensed art she admired in stores, Meredith got a degree in Interior Design. She worked for several architecture firms only to discover that her job primarily consisted of debating pricing with contractors and doing paperwork. Meredith missed the creative freedoms she had in school and had always been intrigued by who made the fabric and wall covering she would specify for projects. Additionally she wanted to do work that served a greater purpose. As a visual learner and lover of counseling, Meredith has been impacted greatly by the work of "Em and Friends". Though it wasn't until 2019 that she began teaching herself how to create her own illustrations via youtube, Skillshare, books, other artists, etc). And since reading Brene Brown's "The Gifts of Imperfection," Meredith has been overcoming perfectionism one illustration at a time! These days, you can find Meredith in her hometown of Nashville, TN, illustrating punny greeting cards with her crazy calico cat, Basil or coming up with inspiration for her newest collection as a surface designer.Read their story
