When two lifelong friends both found themselves working grueling hours in NYC after college, they commiserated on their struggle with unhealthy lifestyles. Specifically, the junk and chemical-fueled energy drinks that powered them through the long days and endless nights took a toll on their bodies. Coffee lost its allure after 9 AM (stomach pain, jitters, lightheadedness), energy drinks don't fit the bill for a health-conscious individual, and the guarana, taurine, "sugar free" marketing jargon that masks the unhealthiness in beverages is just downright dangerous. So, they sought out a solution. Create a simple, healthy, hydrating, and 0 calorie beverage that delivers clean energy. As avid sparkling water drinkers, they thought, why can't our seltzers provide us with a boost? And thus, Volay was born.
