Squaredy Cats was conceived by husband and wife toy designers, Kurt Marquart and Elaine de la Mata in 2008 in their studio in Brooklyn, NY. The brand grew through several iterations in the licensing world until 2015, and was rebooted as a passion project to revive its original concept in 2018 while Kurt freelanced in the toy industry and Elaine directed for some of the biggest toy companies in the world. Since 2020 Squaredy Cats has gained a cult following that is centered in Southern California's spooky scene. Adult horror fans and their families of spoopy kids enjoy collecting these sweet and scary plushies.
