Kaitlin Knapp is an artist living and working in Richmond, Virginia, and the founder of Knapping Press. Since its start in 2020, Knapping Press has created cards and artworks made with vintage imagery and colors found in nature. Out of a desire to create more sustainably, Kaitlin works exclusively with non-toxic, homemade natural dyes extracted from coffee beans, avocado skins, onion skins, and tea leaves. She draws upon her background in art history by sourcing images from antiquarian books and transforming them into usable forms. Sustainability is of utmost importance to Kaitlin, so the majority of products and packaging used are either home compostable, recyclable, or 100% recycled.
