My momma raised me to believe in magic. As her health began to decline, we would sit in the kitchen listening to her stories. Grandma Babe spun her Italian old wives' tales filled with hidden truths, as we dried flowers, mixed fragrances, and read tarot cards. Purse on the floor, money out the door. Grandma Babe passed on early in the morning of December 2, 2018, a few hours after her beloved new-month ritual.
