Since 1985 Denise Joy, as sole proprietor of Mountain Spirit Herbals, has made her herbal knowledge and expertise available to her community in the Pacific Northwest. As the only surviving descendant of an oral herbal tradition passed from great-grandmother to great-granddaughter, Denise celebrates her family's herbal lineage. She honors the path of life, connected with place and community. She has served Port Townsend as well as the rest of the world as an herbalist and practitioner of herbal medicine for over 38 years with her home-based business, Mountain Spirit Herbal Company. All of our products have the herbs infused for no less than 6 weeks to ensure maximum potency. We do not standardize any of our mixes, allowing the plants to gift us with their full healing properties. We grow a lot of the fresh herbs used in our oils, balms, and tinctures. All of our products are made in very small batches and we always use the highest quality herbs possible. Even still, we must supplement our harvest with herbs organically grown by other farmers, wildcrafters, or suppliers of the highest quality; both in the local region and elsewhere.Read their story
