The Miracle Blanket was the first swaddle of its kind and one of the only swaddles available on the market back during the period it was created. An estimated 1.5 million babies have been swaddled in the Miracle Blanket since. The inventor of the Miracle Blanket, Michael Gatten, created it when his youngest, out of three children was eight weeks old. His son cried constantly due to colic. A tight traditional swaddle would get him to sleep and to stop crying, but was very easy for him to get out of. It was at that moment he realized, he needed to invent a blanket that his son could not get out of, so they could all get a full night's rest. Michael brought a big piece of flannel home from the store, and cut the fabric into the right shape, and sewed a foot pocket on, along with arm flaps to keep his son from getting out of the blanket. He sewed all of this together himself in his garage. As soon as he wrapped his son up in it, his son went to sleep within seconds and stayed swaddled each night. This was a miracle blanket to their family, as nothing else had worked. He finalized and patented the design and called it "The Miracle Blanket". The Miracle Blanket is now owned by Christopher Rasco. He is the father of three beautiful daughters and married to a pediatric RN at Children’s Hospital of Alabama, Crystal Rasco. Christopher purchased the company in 2015, after becoming VP of Sales back in 2008.
