BY DESIGN STORY Assia Quétin has just finished the Ateliers (ENSCI) and has in her luggage a vase with the name of Tlaloc. This vase was created during a “creative emulsion” within the Workshops. In order to get the school moving, some students organized a project entitled: “in 2 days, 2 hours, 2 minutes, what is the first object you would like to see in the morning when you wake up” with the bonus, a presentation of the projects to Philippe Starck. He likes the vase and wants to edit it. A year goes by, nothing progresses, so Assia decides to resume her project to present it to other people. Finally, with the complicity of “Editions du Myope”, she exhibited it herself as a prototype at the Maison et Objet show in January 96. The welcome is immediate, the first series is launched! THE NAME “PA design” The name “Pa design” comes from a desire to thumb your nose at the icy design of the 80s: cast aluminum, maximum purification, etc... as well as the use in all manner of the word “design”. AN OBJECT PUBLISHING HOUSE The Tlaloc vase initially takes on all the energies. Thanks to its success, Pa Design decided to publish new Assia objects and to open up to other designers. The desire of Design is to edit idea-objects. THE PA DESIGN CATALOG PA Design, designs and publishes reinvented everyday objects.
