The original definition of courage (ker-ij) means to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart. Ker-ij Jewelry focuses on modern, minimal designs with a combination of brass and gemstones to create handcrafted jewelry that is striking and affordable. Clean lines, patterned gemstones and silky snake chains are a signature to the designs with the hope that each wearer feels confident and courageous to tell their story with Ker-ij . I'm Stacey Jo Rabiger, I am the maker and designer behind Ker-ij Jewelry based out of Salt Lake City, UT. A creative, crafter and rock nerd from childhood, Ker-ij Jewelry was created in 2011 when a pair of hand-me-down tools fortuitously met with my collection of gems. Ker-ij lived as a small side hobby for many years until the brand's name Ker-ij truly gained meaning. In 2014 with the sudden onset of Rheumatoid Arthritis my hands were left completely debilitated for nearly a year. Faced with an unknown future I kicked myself for never having the courage to take the leap and fully pursue my craft and business while I still had functioning hands. Once I was able to find treatment, I hit the ground running. I was determined to create a body of work that encompassed my heart and passion and support my independence. I had finally found my courage and I like to think each piece in my collection carries a bit of my own gutsy determination with it into the world. Read their story
