Miners Mix is a small family-owned business located in Mariposa, home of Yosemite National Park in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of central California. “If it didn’t exist in 1850, it ain’t in here!” What that slogan means is that everything in every Miners Mix package is the real, genuine, article. Miners Mix is what could have been blended back in the days of the gold miners who flocked to this Mother Lode region of California. Our products contain no MSG, no flavor enhancers, no preservatives, no artificial colors, and no high-fructose nonsense. When you taste Miners Mix on a steak, piece of chicken, or some grilled mushrooms, you really do taste the food, just as those tough ol’ gold miners did so many years ago. We think that’s the way seasonings should be. After all, one eats foods for the flavor of the meats and vegetables - not the seasoning. Miners Mix is an evolution of over 45 years of tending grills and smokers in searing desert heat, snow and sleet. Great food is a balance of salt and spices combined with the natural flavors of what you’re eating. Seasonings are supposed to complement the flavor of that to which they’re applied and should not cover up the natural flavor, nor become the primary flavor of what’s on the plate.
