Lou Lou St Cruz is just like you - far from ordinary. We transform fabric made from discarded fishing nets found at the bottom of our oceans to create high-end swimwear, promoting a dual sense of sustainability with garments that are environmentally sensitive, yet stylistically timeless. We believe that fashion can be fickle. It can be alienating and it can damage things, like your confidence, your bank balance and the environment. While we care about all of these things, the one thing we know we can change with the DNA of our brand is the environmental sustainability of the ocean -This doesn’t mean we compromise on style. To create our recycled collection, fishing nets are cleared from the bottom of our oceans by a worldwide nylon waste rescue organisation called The Healthy Seas Initiative. The nets are then cleaned and reconstituted into a luxury closed loop yarn, meaning our pieces are also recyclable. The remainder of the collection uses a base cloth made under highly regulated eco-sensitive practices, that Lou Lou likes to call NeoPerformance. Similar, but far superior to Neoprene, the NeoPerformance has a flattering compression quality, is able to withstand elements, and offers SPF50+ protection creating a high-quality swim garment. Designed for longevity and straying from cheap and fleeting trends, Lou Lou focuses on sustainable, quality pieces that will not only last, but shine for many seasons to come.
