We also infuse Bio-based plastics in our frames helping to reduce our carbon footprint. . The Hawaiian Lifeguard Watches are made from 316L stainless steel cases with SS 120 click unidirectional ratcheting diving bezels, screw down crown and caseback to ensure 200 meters of water resistance. In additional the watches have extremely reliable Miyota Japan quartz movements, highly scratch resistant K1 crystals and comfortable NBR Rubber straps with patterned back for ventilation. "It's the Summer of 2013" I'm shopping for a watch. After browsing through hundreds of styles, I keep seeing outdated designs, over-priced status symbols, and questionnable builds. "There isn't a single good-looking, quality, honestly-priced watch!", I frustratingly declare storming out the mall. An idea starts brewing in my head... Several months later, I'm standing in front of the computer. 10:58am My heart is beating faster than I ever thought it could. I'm sweating, badly. I'm about to launch a new brand of watches on Kickstarter, the upcoming crowdfunding platform. The watches look great, they use the best materials and craftsmanship, and I managed to keep the price incredibly low (more on that later). 10:59am I’m staring at the big green button. It reads “Launch”. 11:00am Click. On April 16th, 2014, Helgray became the world’s #1 most-funded crowdfunding project in its category. We had made history.
