willowcrest press started life in a home workshop in studio city, california, on a little hand press. the business was started by emma gaze, an ex-musician from england. on her many travels around the world playing music, she formed a lasting obsession with stationery, and, after extensively touring america, letterpress in particular. emma moved to the united states in 2009, put down the drum sticks, and set up the press. although all willowcrest press cards are still hand-printed, the press has gotten much, much bigger . . . the motivation behind making the cards is to create something that someone simply must send to someone else. an “ah-ha” or an “awww” moment...something that requires picking up a pen, writing a message and buying a stamp— reaching out and making someone, somewhere, feel loved...
