Meet Our Founder Nicholas Harris has been a human performance expert for 20 years specialising in Sport, Music and Entertainment. During this time his clients have included Formula 1 World Champions, male and female Grand Slam winning Tennis players, AC/DC and Robert Downey Jr. As the architect, Nicholas applied the system and sciences used to accelerate human performance, increase recovery and reduce inflammation to design and create HPE Activewear.

Colorado Threads is an American-made athletic apparel brand focused on creating fun, unique prints all while manufacturing locally and sustainably. OUR JOURNEY In 2014, we set out to improve the Earth by keeping plastic out of landfills and oceans. In doing so, we became one of Colorado’s most iconic activewear brands. Since then, we have expanded universally throughout 23 countries. UjENA was founded in 1984 by photographer and CEO Bob Anderson. The brand became popular overnight and Playboy magazine even called UjENA “the sexiest swimwear this side of St Tropez.” UjENA has continued to make quality products. The family owned business is located in Mountain View California. Catherine Cross-Anderson started working for UjENA many years ago and is our head designer and director of manufacturing. It is only fitting that Bob and Catherine met on a plane in 1995 when Bob and crew was coming back from a Ujena photo shoot in Cabo. This in fact is one of several things that sets UjENA apart from most other brands. Bob and crew have travelled all over the world photographing UjENA in such locations as Cancun, Tahiti, Bali, Kenya, Spain, Fiji, Rio de Janeiro, Sydney, Morocco, Paris, St Tropez, Cuba, Prague, Monte Carlo, Greece, Italy, Cabo. “This is important because we see how UjENA look and function live,” says Catherine. Our customers love us because we use quality fabrics and our craftsmanship is first-class done by our team of professionals in our company owned factories. UjENA is ecofriendly. UjENA product is made to last many seasons. “Not all bodies are the same and many of you have different lifestyle needs,” says Catherine. “I consider these factors when designing.” All UjENA products are designed in house in Mountain View, Calif making sure all details are addressed. We design because of our passion for the equestrian world. We work with real people to hear actual pain points they experience every day, whether in the saddle or working in the barn. For those reasons, designing for longevity, comfort, and durability is of the utmost importance to us. Pronounced Arm-ah-tech was derived from our founder's final university capstone project, Arma, for her four-year degree in product design. The project focused on designing to mitigate the effects of whiplash in equestrian sports. In addition, the armadillo animal inspired the word Arma for its rigidness and durability to its surroundings. For these reasons, it seemed only suitable to continue with the name Arma as the name for an equestrian apparel company focused on quality and longevity. However, after only a couple weeks after launching, The vision for Arma changed, and we decided that it was best to rebrand to Armateq as we felt it represented our specialized, quality products better.
