Calcutta Kitchens' premium Indian simmer sauces have been a favorite at farmers markets and gourmet stores in the greater New York area since 2009. Our original recipes were created by Aditi Goswami based on food memories of her childhood country, India. Growing up in India, food is a way of life. It connects people to their land and to each other. Food is how you show your love - to your family and to yourself. It's that feeling for food that Aditi brings to her creations at Calcutta Kitchens. Our mission is to make Indian food more accessible and a part of the modern American table though the ease of use and wholesomeness of our sauces, reflecting the regional cuisines of India. They will make the best curries that you've ever tasted, but are also versatile enough to use as a base for other creations - stews, soups and anywhere you need a boost of flavors. We are located in the Hudson Valley and opened our first concept store CHAI . TIFFIN . MARKET (TM) in Kingston in 2022. Our sauces and condiments are made entirely here in the USA, in small hand crafted batches of all natural ingredients. Always vegetarian, mostly vegan and all gluten free and never any preservatives. We now source uniquely crafted and sustainable handmade products like Stainless Steel Tiffins (Lunch boxes) and Spice Containers and are pleased to add that to our shop.
