Finca Bosque Lya (Lya's Wald, named after the first-born daughter of the coffee farmer “Lya”) is a coffee plantation in El Salvador that has been growing Arabica coffee beans in the highlands at up to 1650 meters since 1932, picks them by hand and roasts them locally and brings them directly to Germany and the world. This ensures consistently high quality, the coffee is always fresh and the short distances mean that sustainability is paramount in line with Rainforest Alliance certification.  Grandma Lya's coffee has been back in Germany since 2013 As a small idea, Direct Trade coffee was able to start early on with taste and quality persuade. The direct contact with the family and the farmer “Don” Luis is something very special for me. A solid friendship has developed over the years. As a branch of the farm in Europe, we are sustainable, transparent due to short distances and close the circle that began in 1892 with a German emigrant in El Salvador. The coffee is of the highest quality, varietal and with every pack sold, some of the proceeds go directly to “Don” Luis and his employees. It couldn't be fairer!Read their story
