PICNIC TIME: EST 1982 It all started with Gustavo Cosaro and Mario Tagliati. They survived poverty and stints in orphanages in post-war Italy – struggles that taught them the value of hard work, balanced with the freedom to let loose and have a good time. In 1975, they opened “Two Gentlemen from Verona” in Southern California, to provide great wine & quality cheese, paired with fun, friendly service. As the store grew, they heard one question more than any other: “You have all the supplies for a perfect picnic. Do you have a basket to put this in?” Back then, nobody was making a picnic basket that met their standards – so they decided to do it themselves. Since then, Picnic Time has focused on creating the highest quality products, all with the mission to inspire friends and family to come together and make lasting memories.
