JL Scheppers Art, the business, grew out of a tradition of exchanging handmade Christmas gifts with her girlfriends. In 2020, she assembled jewelry for her friends using an old wall calendar art from another small business. Everyone loved their necklaces, but one friend said, "This would be even cooler if it was made from your own art." And, thus, a new venture was born! Just weeks after that, Jamie formed an LLC on her phone while still snuggled up in bed the morning of her 40th birthday. Jamie's jewelry business is still in it's infancy, as is here other venture: encaustic painting, but she has always had a creative streak just itching to get out into the world. Growing up, she spent countless hours in the local dance studio, and supplemented those hard-earned skills with voice lessons so that she could earn larger roles in her school and community musical theatre productions. Now, her art provides an outlet to clear her mind and balance her daily life as a third-generation owner and the VP of Administration at her family’s Midwest beer distribution business. Cheers, Jamie
