Sikelia was founded in 2021 from an idea by Salvo Scarpaci, Sicilian designer who owns the brand. “Designing and then implementing this project was a long work of research, of study in the world of fragrances, in the world of Sicilian myths and legends and materials. I have given a specific name to the emotions that I want to arouse with our fragrances: the 'movements of the soul', understood as the awakening of consciousness towards a lost culture. Emotions are different depending on the scent you choose: we tell you about passions for the sea, love for your land but also the story of Moorish Heads, the envy and anger of Enceladus and the revenge of Zeus” The Sikelia brand — which means Sicily in Greek — wants to tell through its perfumes the mythology and legends of Sicily. The design, the formulation of the perfumes, the materials used are part of a careful selection of Sicilian artists and artisans. The elements that make up Sikelia's creations do not come from industrial productions, they are mostly handmade. Every single perfume cap is produced manually by selected Caltagirone artisans and enriched with a satin tassel. The logo and case, although in different materials, are inspired by ceramics, celebrating the art of Sicilian majolica in a modern way. All the details are the result of skilful craftsmanship and make each Sikelia perfume a unique piece.Read their story
