Originally from Sugar Land, TX, Sarah began her jewelry design pursuits while living in Colorado in 2014. She enrolled in metalsmithing classes and honed her skills in her home studio, sending pieces to friends from time to time. One of the pieces her friend was wearing was spotted by a manager at Madewell, she was asked to do a pop-up event, and NVMBR DCMBR was formed. Sarah's mediums include silver, gold, brass, and bronze. She chooses the material based on what will work best for the piece and how it will look, move, and interact with the body. Any three dimensional components in the NVMBR DCMBR line are hand carved and cast using the lost wax method. Sarah designs and hand-fabricates every component of her jewelry in her home studio from mostly recycled metals. Her jewelry designs are minimalist and androgynous and are often described as "delicate yet edgy." She is inspired by and tries to combine the abstract and the natural. All pieces are meant to be layered and mixed together to create different looks.
