Gilded Bug Jewelry was formed about 10 years ago. I took an elective class when I was studying for my Master's at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco and discovered my love for silversmithing. I've continued to grow my business from there. My specialties are my statement rings and then metal forming. All these items start from sheet metal that are then cut to the size/shape that is needed for the design. Very few pre fabricated elements are used in my designs and I try to let the stone or architectural element of the design be the focus. My settings are more minimalist in nature. I have an eye for stones which make my rings truly unique. There is a lot of jewelry out there, but I let the stones speak in my designs. I have people who never wear large rings or chunkier pieces buy something that is out of their usual comfort zone and even though it is just a piece of jewelry, seeing the empowerment that comes from that purchase is very rewarding. I like to think that my products are edgy but anyone can wear them. But since they are a little edgy, it makes the customer feel a little stronger, a little more fashionably on trend, and a little more confident.
