In 2017, when Chantel picked up her 6-year-old son Kameron from basketball practice her exact words were, "OMG, you smell like a Grown Man!" In searching for a deodorant for him, she discovered there was a lack of safe, chemical-free, kid-friendly deodorants available. She decided to grab ingredients she had in her kitchen: coconut oil, cornstarch, baking soda, essential oils and created her own. Once Kam started wearing it, he had the idea of "Mom, you should be making this for everybody”! After initially downplaying his request, she decided he might be on to something! To her surprise, mothers across the country agreed with her as Chantel had solved a problem that many of them were experiencing...smelly children! In less than 20 months, with a village of mothers providing strong word of mouth of a product that works, Play Pits Deodorant has become one of the nations leading Minority-Owned Small-Business deodorant companies.
