About BaSE

BaSE is a non-profit guaranteed Fair Trade organisation set up in Bangladesh to co-ordinate and promote the handicraft products of various female manufacturing groups out of the main stream, especially those working in the South-West producing various types of handmade items such as Date Palm-leaf & Jute Basketry, Jute Macramé, Nakshi Hand Embroidery, Women Clothing and Accessories. BaSE has been a active member of WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization) since 1999. BaSE owned by women producer groups and total over 5,000 producers (99% are women) organised in 12 producer groups and having over 3,000 products. The producers are from marginalised communities. BaSE producer groups have excellent capacity & skills to prepare custom-made products also according to buyer/partner requirements. BaSE uses local raw materials and products are Natural, Biodegradable, and Recyclable. BaSE products are handmade and sustainable. We direct export products through Sea containers and Air freights.
