Explorative, Cartographic, Earth-bound: Turn-of-the-Centuries is a one-woman studio founded in Savannah, Georgia by me - Kirsten Sparenborg. My work emerges from my education and practice as an architect and urban designer as a way to celebrate the sensory value of places. I value the emotional power of Place in peoples’ lives through use of familiar and natural color palettes and evocative forms, using watercolor, ink and collage. Maps, Mountains and Sketches/Studies offer a visual memory of Place at three scales and work well together as a gallery. These art pieces, "Place" Products, honor special places and the desire for mementos of these places in which we belong, thrive, remember and aspire to our truest selves.
