About Harvest and Wild

The inspiration for Harvest and Wild came while jogging in the village of Stevington, England. There, on a footpath between the farmer’s fields and the Great Ouse River, Matt admired the combination of local harvest surrounded by the wildlife. Matt grew up in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, before moving to the UK to teach. After starting a family and spending several years traveling around Europe, they made the decision to return to Nova Scotia. Since returning to Nova Scotia he has sought to recreate the chutneys and condiments he loved in Europe, using seasonal local ingredients, and lower sugar content than what can normally be found on the store shelves. Partnering with his sister Alex, they make delicious chutneys with fresh local ingredients from their community of Nova Scotia. They are driven by the belief that good food brings people together, and strive every day to make sure their products do just that. Read their story
