Ikuri is a young Berlin-based company that lovingly handcrafts weatherproof bicycle bags. Berlin designer label and Polish manufacturer come together at Ikuri to create beautiful, unique products that you will enjoy for a long time. Bicycle bags are like sand by the sea — but Ikuri bicycle bags stand out from the monochrome fabric of bags with their bright colors and eye-catching patterns. The idea for this project was born in Mexico, where founder Madlen Schering lived for several years. There she discovered the colors and patterns of Mexican oilcloth, Ikuri's trademark. In Mexico, these dominate the street scene: bright colors and retro motifs come across at every corner: whether it's vichy checks, a colorful sea of flowers, dots or fruit — they decorate taco stalls and fruit juice stands as tablecloths. This pocket project was born out of love for this material. Add color to your life... with an Ikuri bag, a start is made. Initially, the Ikuri bags were manufactured in Mexico; in a small bag manufacturing workshop in Guadalajara, Mexico. Three men and one woman sewed the Ikuri bags there and used their work to feed their families.
